Tea time is brought to you by WPKitchen

Introducing Meet Time By WPKitchen

– Uniting freelancers from Faisalabad, Pakistan
– Baby steps toward WordCamp Faisalabad

Every city has its heartbeat. For some, it is industry. For others, agriculture. In Faisalabad, quietly and steadily, another pulse is rising — freelancing. Thousands of young men and women sit behind laptops, building websites, designing graphics, writing content, and serving clients across the globe. Yet, ironically, these freelancers rarely know each other in their own city. They work alone, celebrate alone, and struggle alone.

In Faisalabad, a quiet but powerful movement is about to start. On the very first Sunday of October 2025, freelancers from different walks of life will gather — not in grand halls or luxury hotels, but in a private guest house near Abu Bakar Masjid, Al-Masoom Town. The idea is simple: to meet, to connect, and to grow together as a freelancer community.

Meet Time by WPKitchen

The idea of Meet Time was born from a thoughtful WhatsApp discussion between Pomy and Adnan Parvez, where they first dreamed of gathering at least 50 freelancers in Faisalabad. Over time, that idea grew into something bigger — a dedicated monthly space for freelancers to connect and learn.

October 5th, 2025, will mark our first official Meet Time. And fittingly, it also falls on World Teachers’ Day in Pakistan. Freelancing, much like teaching, is about learning and passing knowledge forward. Every freelancer is both a student and a teacher: we learn new skills daily, and we share those skills with clients, peers, and the next generation. Just as a teacher lights a candle in another’s life, this meetup aims to spark connections, ideas, and collaborations that will brighten the path for freelancers in Faisalabad.

Why This Meetup Matters

The model is simple and fair. For Meet Time by WPKitchen, everyone contributes what they can:

  • Tea Only — Rs. 300
  • Dinner Only — Rs. 700
  • Dinner + Tea — Rs. 1000

This is a self-funded freelancers meetup. The contribution only covers basic tea and dinner costs.

The schedule is simple: dinner for those who opt in, tea for latecomers, and a group photo at 8:30 PM. But the real value is not the food — it’s the connections, collaborations, and community we build together.

Freelancers Meetups vs WordPress Meetups

We want to make one thing clear: WordPress Meetups are always free for attendees. They are funded through local sponsorships and the global WordPress Community Support program.

  • Freelancers meetups (Meet Time by WPKitchen) → self-funded, small contribution for tea/dinner.
  • WordPress Meetups (official) → free for everyone, supported by sponsors/community.

Both paths run side by side — freelancers’ gatherings help us grow as a local community, while official WordPress Meetups will prepare Faisalabad for something bigger: WordCamp Faisalabad in the future.

Two Separate Meetup Tracks

To keep things clear: Meet Time by WPKitchen and WordPress Meetups will not be held on the same day.

  • Meet Time (Freelancers Meetup): A self-funded gathering where freelancers contribute for tea or dinner, focused on networking, collaboration, and career growth.
  • WordPress Meetups (Official): Free and open to everyone, supported by sponsors or the global WordPress Community program, focused entirely on WordPress learning and community building.

Both are important for Faisalabad. Meet Time strengthens the freelancing community, while WordPress Meetups prepare us for the bigger dream — WordCamp Faisalabad.

The Road Ahead

Right now, Meet Time is fully self-funded. In the future, if we attract sponsors, we will add even more value — like surprise family dinners, tea packs, t-shirts, notebooks, or small tech items.

Sponsorships will also allow us to invite special guests — HR professionals, software house owners, agency managers, and successful freelancers — giving participants direct access to insights and opportunities that can change careers.

But no matter what, WordPress Meetups in Faisalabad will always remain free and open to the public.

The Founding Members

Before our official meetup on 5th October, we’re hosting a special “Meet Time: Zero” or “ Founders Meetup” or “ Co-Hosts Meetup .” Those who join will always be remembered as the founding members who stepped forward to help shape the culture of future meetups and start this community.

The Call

So here we are: a room, a table, tea, dinner, and freelancers. Nothing fancy, yet everything powerful. If we make the first meetup happen, the second will be easier, and the third even stronger. From there, sponsors, opportunities, and growth will come naturally.

This journey will eventually lead us to host WordPress Meetups in Faisalabad — and one day, bring WordCamp itself to the city of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Arfa Karim Randhawa.

But Meet Time will continue even after WordCamp Faisalabad. This is not just a meetup; it is the beginning of a tradition — a freelancer community built in Faisalabad, for Faisalabad. Our long-term goal is simple: to bring together 100 freelancers every month — whether under one roof or in the open air — to learn, share, and grow together.

Become a Sponsor, Build a Community

We invite you to stand with us as a lead sponsor or supporter of Meet Time by WPKitchen — a grassroots movement uniting freelancers of Faisalabad for the very first time. Your support will not just reduce participation costs or add small perks for attendees; it will place your name at the heart of a young, restless, and ambitious community writing Faisalabad’s digital future.

Sponsorship here is not about funding tea or dinner — it is about igniting collaboration, opening doors of learning, and creating opportunities that can uplift hundreds of freelancers. And tomorrow, when Faisalabad emerges as a hub of innovation, you will be remembered as the hand that helped light the first candle.
