The Rural Guaranteed Minimum Income Initiative is a project where researchers give families living in poverty a fixed monthly payment for a period of time and observe what happens. The goal is to learn whether direct cash support can help reduce poverty by enabling people to pay bills, start small businesses, and stabilize their lives.
