WHAT WPKITCHEN IS BUILDING
WPKitchen is different because it supports freelancers and WordPressers through meals. Programs like Lunch Time provide subsidized homemade lunches, helping freelancers save money while connecting with the community. By combining food with meetups and workspaces, WPKitchen makes freelancing easier, more social, and more sustainable.WPKitchen is currently working on seven community-driven programs: Here are the details of each program.
😋 lunch Time — subsidized lunch program
Lunch Time is our core program, and if you read our story, it is the main reason behind starting WPKitchen.
We share daily subsidized homemade lunches with WordPress freelancers working in co-working spaces. Our sponsors cover 70% of the lunch cost, and freelancers contribute the remaining 30%. Through this initiative, we not only support WordPress freelancers, but also promote co-working space culture, support chefs working from home, and encourage homemade meals. So far, we have delivered 400+ lunches.
🎁 Treat Time — weekly giveaways
On Friday, 16 May 2025, we started our first weekly lunch giveaway and call it treat time. So far, we have delivered 12 lunches through these giveaways.
We share FREE LUNCH opportunities by running contests on our LinkedIn page. On our giveaway page, we document the journey of each giveaway, from the generous sponsors who fund the lunches, to the honorary guests who select the winners, the WordPress freelancers who win, and the lunches we happily deliver.
☕ Tea Time — WordCamp US 2025
We have started Tea Time by WPKitchen, unofficially connected with WordCamps. The first Tea Time took place during WordCamp US 2025, bringing together 131 participants, with over 40 winners. It was supported by Tugboat and backed by 12 sponsors.
🤝 Meet Time — Monthly Meetups
Meet Time by WPKitchen is a monthly meetup for freelancers and WordPress professionals focused on networking, collaboration, and career growth. In this model, freelancers contribute 30% of the event cost (tea, dinner, and venue), while sponsors support the remaining 70%.
